He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry Franklin Pursell and Elizabeth Morris Pursell; his wife Christine Thomas Pursell; and his siblings, Erma Reagan, Pearl Hale, Robbie Dean Kent, Mary Sue Gilley and Jimmy Pursell.

He is survived by : his children, Kristie Bailey Chaffin (Leon) of Eagleville, Jamie Pewitt (Kenny) of Lascassas and Brad Pursell (Patti) of Auburntown; his grandchildren, Ashley Still (Chris), Erica Garrett (Ryan), McKenzie Bennett (Spencer), Sarah Motley (Jordan Fann) and Colton Pursell (Sarah Grace); his great grandchildren, McKinlee, Pailyn Still, Jackson Bennett, Annalynn, Neyland, Wylie Kate and Briggs Garrett; his stepgranddaughter Katelyn Conner; and his siblings, Linda Smith (Lonnie) of Woodbury, Connie Alsup of Lebanon and Doug Pursell (Cheyrel) of Auburntown.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Woodbury Funeral Home (504 W Main St, Woodbury, TN 37190). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home (504 W Main St, Woodbury, TN 37190).
