He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Cummings and Josephine Mears Cummings; and his son John Cummings. He is survived by: his daughter Amy Batey (Jason) of Murfreesboro; his sisters, Connie Reuhland (Rick) of North Carolina and Louise Holden-Hale (Lonnie) of Auburntown; his grandchildren, Morgan Murdock (Christopher Maradiaga) and Micah Stewart; his great grandchildren, Max Maradiaga and Lincoln Maradiaga; and his close friends, Karen, Robert Maddox and Johnny Harmon (Donna "Duck" Lopez). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
