It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James K. Batey (Woodbury, Tennessee), who passed away on April 29, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by : his children, Andrew Batey, Leroy Batey (Bo), Sam Batey, Jennie Batey, Archie Batey, Nannie Mae Batey Foutch, Luther Batey, Nettie Batey and Robert Batey; his wife Katherine Foutch Batey; his nephews, Emanuel and Ricardo (Muffin); his children, Jimmy Lyons (Diane) and Shirley Chestnutt (Jerry); his godson Charles Mount; his grandchildren, Dana Terry (William), Ondria Turner (William), Lavon McGee (Steve), Labresieo Bass, Emanuel Chestnutt (Jamie), Jessica Jones (Quincy), Kaneeka Bustos and Elisha Lyons; his nieces and nephews, Mary Pagan, Frances Hill, Mary Floyd, Floyd Batey and Freddie Batey; and his friend Louise Knox. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren and ten great, great grandchildren.
