He is survived by: his siblings, Tom Dillard (Jeannette), Dennis Dillard (Ann), Nellie Battles (Bobby), Myrtle Dillard, Sara Dillard and Elizabeth Peppers; his wife Phyllis Dillard; his children, Nichole Locke, Melvin Lee Dillard, Jr., Donetta Taylor (Antonio) and Burnetta Smith (Adrian); his grandchildren, Casey Locke, William Wellington, Shalei Jennings, Antonio Taylor, Jr., Iyonna Simmons, Avryel Smith, Javonna Bates and Adrian Smith, Jr.; and his close friend Charles Bowies (Jamerlynn). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
