He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Rains and Bertha Sadler Rains; his wives, Lillian Merritt Rains and Marie Rains; his sons, Tommy and Gayle Rains; his grandson Rustin Means; his great grandchildren, Blake and Eli Hall; and his siblings, Clark Rains, Thelma Rains, Cora Jean Duke and Ray Rains.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Hall (Ronnie) of Woodbury, Sonda Reed of Manchester and Barbara Brown of Kissimmee, FL.; his grandchildren, Bethany Hall, Tiffany Simpson, Benjamin Rains, Amber Gunter, Jonathan Hall, Anthony Reed, Brian Reed and Michelle Harris; his great grandchildren, Lillie, Lizzie Hall, Gweneth Basham, Isabella Rasori, Mason Simpson, Rose Simpson, Mark Simpson, Luke Rains, Ava Rains, Bradley Gunter, Brooklynn Crawford, Elena Reed, Luke Reed, LeRoy Reed, Kailee Dick, Thomas Means, Daniel Means, Grayson Hall, Anna Hall and Allie Hall; and his great great grandchildren, Samuel Gunter, Elsie Crawford, Zayn Harris, Knox Dick and Knash Dick.
