Alan Ray Bell Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 28, 2025, at the age of 77, Alan Ray Bell in Abilene, Texas, born in Lamesa, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Myrl Deen Thompson; his stepfather J. R. Thompson; his siblings, Billy Don Hindman, Ronald Wayne Bell and Debra Myrl Rogers; and his siblings' children, Amber, Kelli Hindman and Billy Dee Hindman.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline Bell of San Saba, TX; his son Cody Alan Bell; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Bell; his grandson Grady Alan Bell; his brother Richard Eugene Bell of Blackwell; and his sibling's children, Deecie Tjaden, Traci Jordan, Shaye Thompson, Jody Bell, Jamie Rogers, Dustin Rogers, Jason Thompson, Rusty Thompson, John Veach, Rodney Veach (Addie Adams), Tony Shields (Laura Shields), Dee Elliot and Raynae Gregg.
A funeral service was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Methodist Church (312 Main St, Blackwell, TX 79506).
Alan's work was celebrated in the George H. Bush Presidential Library during the Texas Sesquicentennial, showcasing his contribution to Texas boot making. This recognition was further solidified when he was honored as bootmaker of the year by the Will Rogers Foundation in 2018.
