He was predeceased by: his parents, W. C. Tipton and Hilda Eppler Tipton. He is survived by: his wife Donna Leisa Bott of Abilene; his children, Jonathan Bott, Lindsey Tipton, Crystal Tipton, Tessa Tipton and Jayce Moore; his siblings, Wendell Tipton and Sue Casey (Tim); and his grandchild Leyla Bland.

In lieu of flowers, because of Scott's passion for animal rescue and his love of his own rescued dogs, he would be honored for donations to be made to the National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network (NASRN, P.O. Box 2001, Higley, AZ 85234).
