He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank F. Carter and Cornelia Frances Goode Carter; his brothers-in-law, Odell Hickman and Larry Simpson; and his son-in-law Rod Kypke.
He is survived by: his wife Romara DeRusha Carter; his daughters, Camie Kypke and Holly Carter; his grandchildren, Vaughn Kypke (Kathryn) and Paris Kypke (Megan); and his sisters, Shirley Hickman and Sallie Brewer (Ken). He is also survived by several nephews and many cousins and friends.
