He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Mears and Wilma Mears; his wife Joy Mears; and his brothers, Bill Mears, Dubb Mears and Jerry Mears.
He is survived by: his children, Tonya Doby (Chuck), Blake Mears (Adrienne) and Paul Mears (Becky); his stepdaughter Tami Bolyard (Doug); his grandchildren, Zach Lewis, Ava Mears, Ella Mears, Carter Mears and Colton Mears; and his sister Emma Jean Harrison. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
