He was predeceased by: his brother Alan Keith Merchant; and his son Michael Ray Becknel. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Merchant of Abilene; his father Cleo Merchant (Jean) of Comfort, TX; his sister Selena Wood (Glenn) of Lovington, NM; and his children, Alan Wayne Merchant (Crystal) of Abilene, TX, Stacy Taylor of Stamford, TX and Linda Beggs of Stamford, TX. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
