Gwynell leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Gwynell’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Gwynell will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse L. Roper and Emma Dorothy Roper (Bryan) of Anna, Texas; and her sister Rachel Roper of Abilene, Texas. She is survived by: her daughter Debra Tower Stevens; her grandson Bryan (Sonja Stevens); and her great grandchildren, Josie Stevens and Colten Stevens.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at the Memories Cemetery (5701 US-277, Abilene, TX 79606).
