With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hubert Edward Smith of Abilene, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 1, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Grace Heaton Smith; his brothers, Bobby Jo Smith, Thomas Earl Smith and Harry Elmer Smith; his children, Vickie Lou, Barbara Ann and Hubert Edward Smith Jr.; and his pet Tiny Ann.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mammie Parker, Doris Lemon (Leroy), Helen Drake and Janie Rester; his close friends, Jerry Pingle and Linda Richardson; and his daughters, Tina O'Shields and Nona Flanders.
