He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Walter Mergele and Sarah Elizabeth Stabenow Mergele; and his former wife Frances Emilie Berry Mergele. He is survived by: his wife Joy Mergele; his children, Frank Mergele, Janis Mergele, Jon Mergele (Patty), Brad Galbraith (Kristi) and Lance Galbraith; and his grandchildren, Lauren Messina (Rick), Arna Carlock (Matt), Nicholas Mergele Nolley (Haley), Emily Mergele, Patton Galbraith and Will Galbraith. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
