He is survived by : his wife Jeanie Kilton (No Hui); his children, Sujan Kilton, Julie Kilton-Snow of Abilene, Texas and James Kilton, Jr. of Canyon, Texas; his siblings, Betty McKenney (New Hampshire), Barbara Kilton (New Hampshire), David Kilton (Louisiana), Brian Sweeney (New Hampshire) and Kevin Sweeney (New Hampshire); and his grandsons, Jackson Snow of Canyon, Harrison Snow of Abilene and Nicholas Kilton Stafford.
