It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Norman Mitchell of Abilene, Texas, born in Fort Worth, Texas, who passed away on December 20, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Norman Mitchell and Lilly Blackwood Mitchell; his wife Patsy King Mitchell; and his siblings, Mable Mitchell Phillips, Norma Mitchell Ewing and William.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Brown and R. Dru Mitchell (Tammy); his grandchildren, Alleks Kornbaum (Will), Laura DeTorres (Alex), Brice and Conor Mitchell; and his nieces and nephews, Phyllis, Julie, Donna, Jennifer, Clay and Jeff. He is also survived by neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the best way to honor James is to donate to a group that provides help to others.
