He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Edwards and Elfreda Edwards; his wife Nancy Ellen Telchik; his brother Don Edwards; and his wife Deloris Mankin Edwards.

He is survived by: his daughter Jana; his son-in-law Ed Emerson of Abilene; his grandchildren, Eric, Katie Emerson and J'Lyn Emerson; his great grandchildren, Parker and Avery Emerson; his sister Welda Edwards; and his sister-in-law Mary Edwards.
