She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Fleming and Edith Matthews Fleming; and her sons, Bryan and Bill. She is survived by: her daughter Joan; her husband C. H. Dowdy; her daughters, Beth (David Laurence) of Abilene and Lisa (Kenny Brueggeman) of Waco; her grandchildren, Betsy (Colton Gragg) of Abilene, Will (Haley Laurence) of Abilene and Colin (Stephanie Brueggeman) of Waco; and her great grandchildren, Emma of Abilene, Abby Gragg of Abilene, Owen of Abilene and Calvin Laurence of Abilene.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Owens and Brumley Funeral Home (1317 9th St, Wichita Falls, TX 76301). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (1200 9th St, Wichita Falls, TX 76301).
