He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis J Bruneau and Helen M Bruneau; his son Brent Bruneau; and his former wife Annette L Bruneau. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Bruneau; his daughters, Gina Nichols (Clint) and Bonnie Irwin (James F. Jr.); his stepchildren, Jake and Misty Pehl; his sisters, Patricia Peck and Sue Broder; and his grandchildren, Shannan Sumner, Shane Sumner (Brittany), James F. III, Jonathan, Joshua, Elizabeth Irwin, Benjamin, Breanna Bruneau and Austin Belitz. He is also survived by three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
