He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Howard Straughn and Edythe Straughn of Kansas City, Kansas.; his wife Ann Hendrix of Ward, Arkansas.; his sister Janet Mills (Bob) of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; his sister-in-law Carole Straughn; his son Greg Straughn (Marcia) of Abilene; his grandchildren, Eva, Anna and Mattye; and his son Matt Straughn (Amber) of Glenn Dale, Maryland.
