She was predeceased by: her parents, J. E. Embry and Lula Embry (Wright); and her brothers, Joe Embry, Floyd Embry, Calvin Embry, Chester Embry and Doyle Embry.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Shanks; her son Jeep Shanks (Patricia) of Abilene, Texas; her granddaughters, Nikki Blake (David) and Kami Dodds (Heath Parnell); and her great grandchildren, Craig Dodds, Cade Dodds, Hagan Blake and Embry Blake.
