He is survived by: his children, Robert (Libbe) of Abilene and Anne-Marie (Pat Kinnard) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Garrett Gillespie of Sweetwater, Bradley Gillespie of Weatherford, Emily Canrobert of Dallas and Hudson Anne Kinnard of Dallas; his great grandchildren, Carleigh Gillespie and Olivia Canrobert; his friends, John Barbee and Gene Ashworth; and his close friend Nina Sanders.
