We announce the death of Manuel Vera of Abilene, Texas, who passed away on October 6, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginia Moreno Vera and Prajedes Vera; his siblings, Julia Vera, Janie Flores, Esther Flores and Joe Vera; and his son-in-law Pat Sigala.
He is survived by: his siblings, Evita Vera of Natalia, Texas, Prajedes Jr. Vera and Daniel Vera; his children, Anna Sigala of Abilene, Texas, Linda Petty (Steve Petty) of Acworth, Georgia, Susie Roberts of Wynne, Arkansas, Della Blalock (Jerry Blalock) of San Antonio, Texas and Robert Vera (Rebecca Vera) of San Antonio, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Marcus Torres (Nancy Torres) of Belton, Texas, Zachary Earls of Abilene, Texas, Travis W. Earls of Dallas, Georgia, Holly Roberts of Hawaii, Jeffrey Roberts, Vanessa Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry Blalock of San Antonio, Texas, Katie Vera of San Antonio, Texas, Justin Petty of Austin, Texas, William Granada of San Antonio, Texas, Max Vera of San Antonio, Texas and Nicole Vera of San Antonio, Texas.. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home (424 Geraldine St, Uvalde, TX 78801). A rosary will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
His kindness, leadership, and contributions to the community will never be forgotten.
