With sadness, we share the passing of Martin Leon Jensen in Abilene, Texas. Martin, born on October 27, 1947, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Jensen and Artie Mae Jensen (Miller); and his sister-in-law Becky Jensen. He is survived by: his siblings, Milton Jensen of Avoca, John Jensen of Lueders, Texas and Dr. Annette Jensen of Midland, Texas; his nephews, Tony Jensen (Tommi Jensen) of Avoca, Texas, John Carl Jensen of Avoca, Texas and Randy Jensen of Avoca, Texas; his great-nephews, Jay Jensen (Jill) and Logan Jensen of Avoca, Texas; Tatum of Avoca, Texas. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Tankersley Funeral Home (807 Columbia St, Stamford, TX 79553). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery (1024 E Vanderbilt St, Stamford, TX 79553).
When the Swenson family approached the Abilene Preservation League about donating the Swenson House to them, Martin was one of the strongest advocates for its acquisition.
