We announce the death of Oliver Lee Harris (Abilene, Texas), who passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Oliver will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Harris and Cleta Mae Harris (Kent); his former wife Pat; his sister Kathy Giddens; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Graham and Billy Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Dee Batley Harris of Burkburnett; his stepdaughters, Cheray Bentle (Matt) of Bozeman and Holly Callantine (Aaron) of Wichita Falls; his sisters, Darlene Graham of Amarillo and Eula Cook of White Deer; his nieces, Carlissa Blevins (Darryl) of Channing, Brook Anderson of San Antonio Texas, Robin Castellanos of Converse and Debbie Sherrill Antilley of Abilene; his great-niece Emily Taylor (Scott) of Abilene; and his nephew Rusty. He is also survived by six step grandchildren & nine step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Elmwood Funeral Home (5750 US-277, Abilene, TX 79606). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel (5750 US-277, Abilene, TX 79606).
