He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Slapak and Doris Freeman Slapak; his in-laws, Ed and Ruth Lathem; his brother Monty Slapak; and his brother-in-law Chester Lathem.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Lathem (Patricia Lynn); his children, Randa Tucker (Tony) and Ryan Slapak (Stephanie); his sister Dona Lackey (Bill); his grandchildren, Hannah Mitchell (Tyler), Zachary Slapak, Chaney Tucker, Carson Tucker and Ryder Slapak; and his great grandchildren, Cooper and Braylee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606). A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Dalhart Cemetery.
Donations in his memory can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital of Dayton, Ohio.
