He is survived by: his wife Cindy Carter; his daughters, Tami Sooter (Tom) and Jenny Humphrey (Corey); his grandchildren, Grant Sooter, Carter Humphrey and Mackenzie Humphrey; his brother John Carter (Rachael); his niece Savannah Garrett; his nephew Seth Carter; his brother-in-law Toby Williams (Melany); his nephew Brian Williams; his sister-in-law Susie Scott (Steve); and his nieces, Molly Evans and Amy Willey.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606).
