He was predeceased by: his parents, H. T. Collins, Jr. and Alta Jean Collins; and his brother Harold Collins. He is survived by: his wife Sherri Giddens Collins; his daughters, Traci Collins and Melinda Collins Whitfill (Cody); his sister Catherine McAnally (John); and his grandchildren, Olivia Whitfill Foster (Cody), Creed Whitfill (Maddie), Briley Laxton-Collins, Kacey Laxton-Collins and Cameron Laxton-Collins. He is also survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, sister, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Hawley Cemetery (12419 US-277, Hawley, TX 79525).
