He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurston Owen and Rheba Owen; and his in-laws, Randall and Carol Lea. He is survived by: his wife Connye; his children, Ashley Owen-Phillips (Jason) and Austin Owen (Lexis); his grandchildren, Jake, Harrison and Creed; his brother Dr. Michael Owen; his sister-in-law Loretta; his nieces, Jennifer and Julie; his nephew Jeff; and his cousins, Judy Daniels and Herbert Campbell.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the Men of Nehemiah or Beltway Park Church here in Abilene.
