It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Valeta Matthews (Abilene, Texas), who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Selmon Pollard and Ommie Pollard; her husband Sam O. Matthews; and her sisters, Wanda Lee Fischer, Flora Mae Carlson and Dixie Lou Levens.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kim Davis (Craig) and Cyndi Bailey (Wayne); her grandchildren, Jason Chapman, Brittanie Wade and Parker Bailey; her great grandchildren, Sam Chapman, Avery Chapman, Bailey Chapman, Bankston Bailey, Brooks Bailey, Wylder Wade and Walker Wade; and her nieces and nephews, Pete, Bill, Mike, Jeri, Ronnie, Mindy, Jeff, Joe and Jana.
