He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Urban and Ruth Urban; his wife Marjorie Hendrick Urban; his daughters, Lisa Ann Urban and Anne Lucille Urban; his brother Charles Urban of East Haddam, CT; and his parents-in-law, James and Ruby Hendrick of Baird, TX.
He is survived by: his son Kurt; his daughter-in-law Debbie Urban of Abilene; his daughter Mary; his son-in-law Lou Bladel of Washington, DC; his sister-in-law Peggy Urban of East Haddam, CT; his nieces and nephews, Kathy Schupp, LuAnn Howell, Dorie Ostrowski, Beverly Christopher, David Hendrick, Eric Howell, Richard Urban and Steven Urban; and his grandchildren, Kara Miller, Kerry Paul Davila, Amber Alhassan, Samuel Bladel and Joseph Bladel. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Scholarship Fund at McMurry University (givemcm.edu) or the Moodus Reservoir Preservation Group (moodusreservoir.org), aimed at preserving the health of the lake upon which Walter was raised.
