He was predeceased by: his parents, Martiniano Alaniz Sr. and Manuela Leal Alaniz; and his siblings, Rafael Alaniz, Cruz Alaniz, Inocencio Alaniz, Elvira Alvarez, Andrea De La Cruz, Minerva Gomez and Esperanza Alaniz.
He is survived by: his wife Delia S. Alaniz; his children, Olga Lidia Alaniz Molina (Jerry), Manuela Alaniz Briones (George), Rogelio "Roy" Alaniz Jr., Monica Alaniz Alanis (Hiram) of Rolando Alaniz, M. D. and Raul Alaniz M. D.; and his siblings, Antonio Alaniz (Libby), Martiniano Alaniz Jr. (Amparo), Virginia Delgadillo (Jesus) and Rosa Jimenez. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
