He is survived by : his wife Debbie Jo Ledbetter; his friend Ranger of Texas; his children, Samantha Hawkins-Uys (Craig) and Matthew Hawkins (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Ava, Audrey, Addison Hawkins, Brent and Sean Uys; and his siblings, Nancy Nelson and Roy Hawkins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
