It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonja Brake of Albany, Texas, who passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Tryon Temple Lewis; her brother Tony Hawk; her half-siblings, Mark Moellendorf and Laura Moellendorf; and her grandparents, Herman, Ruby Keesee, James Temple and Murrle Lewis.
She is survived by: her mother Patricia Maurine Keesee; her stepfather Bill of Albany; her daughters, Kristin Taylor (Josh) of The Woodlands and Kayla Brake (Rod) of Friendswood; her grandchildren, Sebastian Hinson, Brenham Ortiz and Willow Taylor; her sister Monica Cleveland (David) of Albany; her stepbrother David Moellendorf of Austin; her close friend Steve Williams; her stepmother Debbie Lewis of Arlington; and her half-sisters, Angel Pierce, Frankie Guynes and Shalon Burks. She is also survived by many extended family members, beloved nieces and nephews, and four-legged companions.
