He was predeceased by: his parents, Fidel Garza and Cecilia Vela Garza; his grandson Michael Andrew Lopez; and his siblings, Van Elkins, Jose Luis Garza, Romeo Garza and Ofilia Garza Soliz.
He is survived by: his children, Fidel Gerardo Garza (Lori) of Saint Joseph, Missouri, Lisa Torres (Benny) of Alice, Belinda Espinosa of Corpus Christi, Teresa Sanchez (Jesse) of Corpus Christi and DeAndra M. Garza of Falfurrias; and his brother Raul Garza Sr. of Falfurrias. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren with one on the way; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
