He was predeceased by: his parents, Conrado Herrera and Rosalinda Herrera; his daughter Patricia Hinojosa; his granddaughter Samantha Josephine Herrera; and his siblings, Ernestina Garcia, Margarita Renterria, Maria Herrera, Petra Garza, Angelita Benavides, Janie Herrera, Armando Herrera and David G. Herrera Sr..
He is survived by: his significant other Charlotte Ann Herrera; his children, Cynthia Gomez (Carlos), Ruby Galle (Bill), Charlene Casas (Gilbert), Jose Herrera, Jr. (Crystal) and David Hinojosa, Jr.; and his sisters, Dominga Garcia, Estella Bueno (Antonio) and Isabel Herrera (Jose Angel Longoria). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Treviño Funeral Home (120 E Front St, Alice, TX 78332). A rosary was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM and from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
