Joy Rushing Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Rushing of Alice, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Preston and Estelle Preston; her son Ronald Rushing (Kathy); her siblings, Edna Smart (Doug), Marvin Ray Preston (Rose), Charles "Bud" Preston (Grace) and Hubert Preston (Lauretta); Lavon and Coy.

She is survived by: her husband Charles "Sonny" Rushing; her children, Brenda Conn, Bruce Rushing and Pam; and her siblings, George Preston, Bobby Preston and Rowena Parks. She is also survived by grandkids, (17) great grandkids, and (1) great-great grandbaby.

In lieu of flowers, Joy was a supporter of St. Jude's.
