He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis Dean and Elva Landrum Dean. He is survived by: his sister Sharon Luker (Morris) of Ratcliff; and his sibling's children, Chris Hooper (Marie) of Beaufort, Jason Hooper (Betsy) of Whitesboro, Elissa, Anabelle, Molly, Emma, Ellie, Abbie and Maddie.

Memorials may be made to Lynches Chapel Cemetery or to Alto Volunteer Fire Department.
