He is survived by: his wife Gloria Mitchell; his sons, Shedrick Mitchell (Rosie) and Michael Mitchell (Kecia); his siblings, Helen Thomas, Tommie Hawkins, Laura Hardy (Jerry), Donald Mitchell (Brenda), Ronald Mitchell (Pamela) and Melvin Mitchell; his sister-in-law Loretta Mitchell; his granddaughters, Naylah, Mykah and Treasure; and his great grandchildren, Fortune and Peace. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
