He was predeceased by: his mother Matilde Reyna; his wife Dolores Patlan; and his son Emilio Reyna Patlan. He is survived by: his children, Sotera Cach (Gaspar) of Alvin, Guadalupe Reyna of Mexico and Raul Reyna of Hitchcock, Texas. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
