He was predeceased by: his parents, Maude Vanderford and Shine Vanderford; his former wife Joanne Carol Vanderford (Ozment); his daughter Cynthia Wright; and his siblings, Edward Vanderford, Billy Vanderford, Louise Vanderford, Lois Phipps, Mable Couch and Inez Cabaniss.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Vanderford; his brother Frank "Cricket" Vanderford; his sister-in-law Sharon Herbert (Ron); his daughters, Wanda Myers (Randy) and Sheryl Williams (Tim); his son-in-law Dr. Clay Wright; his stepdaughters, Cindy Cegielski (Kevin) and Brenda Schibi (Jody); and his grandchildren, Krystal Murphy, Shawn Stanley, Lauren Strandberg (Louis), Cody West (Nichole), Cayla Welsh (James), Christy Barr (Douglas), Joel Tucker (Laken), Cassie Tucker, Taylor Miles (Cory) and Spencer Cardiff (Harrison). He is also survived by three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters, as well as thirteen bonus step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Buck suggested that donations be made to a worthwhile veterans organization.
