She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Peterson, Sr. and Edna Brooks Peterson; her husband James B. May Sr.; her daughters, Michelle Marie May Jackson, Deborah Kaye May Sims and Sharon Faultry; and her siblings, Elizabeth Turner, Bernice Peterson, Voralee Baldobino, Richard Peterson Jr. and Robert Peterson Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Vanessa May Simon (Lonzell), James May Jr. (Phyllis), Isaiah May Sr. (Erica), Edna Prudhomme and Etta Faultry; her brother Otha Peterson; her godchildren, Clarence Peterson, Doris Fleming, Kathy Wiggins, Sherly Johnson, Kenny Peterson, Ruthie McDowell and Vickie Gamble; and her daughter Georgia Gaines. She is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren, eighty-two great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Living Stones Church (1407 Victory Ln, Alvin, TX 77511). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
