With solemn reverence, we commemorate James Stephens of Alvin, Texas, born in Arlington, Texas, whose life came to an end on December 10, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Stephens and Carl Stephens; and his grandson Will Johnson Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Stephens; his children, Teri Varnado (Don), Leslie Maus (Bob), Jimmy Stephens (Nancy), Al Stephens (Recha), Mike Jones (Penny), Donny Stephens and Bobby Jones; and his grandchildren, Tonya, Shana, Jason, Brian, Stacy, Megan, Sarah, Lexi, Katie, Jamie and Jake. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Southpark Baptist Church (2102 W Lang St, Alvin, TX 77511). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Youth Ministry" at South Park Baptist Church, 1718 S. Johnson St., Alvin, TX 77511.
