She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Caldwell and Clara Caldwell (Froberg); her husband Billy Nelson; her sister Betty Bartlett; her sister-in-law Judy Caldwell; and her parents-in-law, Alfred and Viola Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Nelson (Cindy) of Alvin, Fred Nelson (Lori) of Santa Fe and Terri Nelson of Cleburne, Texas; her brother David Caldwell of Austin; her grandchildren, Mike Nelson, Jr. (Stacie), Cassi Beard (Richard), Ashli Anderson (Joe), Serena Smith (Justin), Amy Magness (Aaron), Katie Clark (Gerald) and David Nelson (Lynsey); and her great grandchildren, Mercedes, Destini, McKenzi, Jackson, Spencer, Mya, Karleigh, Konner, Emma, Owen and Evie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel (10412 Hwy 6, Santa Fe, TX 77510). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Hayes Funeral Home (10412 Hwy 6, Santa Fe, TX 77510).
