It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rex Cavanaugh of Alvin, Texas, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on May 29, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Selma Cavanaugh; his parents, Joseph and Mary Cavanaugh Sr.; and his siblings, Raymond, Tommy, Bailey, Glen, Regina and Jackie.

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Weaver (Sherman), David Cavanaugh (Jeanette) and Kevin Cavanaugh (Olga); his siblings, Martha Calkin, Kathy Bienek and Doug Cavanaugh; and his grandchildren, Taylor George, Dr. Jenna Walls, Christy St. John, Fawn Marchante, Cody Cavanaugh, Alyssa Cavanaugh, Janel Anderson, Christopher Mercado and Julia Mercado. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
