It is with sadness that the passing of Alton Patrick Cunningham (Amarillo, Texas) is shared. Alton, born on June 6, 1947, passed away on September 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Patrick Cunningham and Eleanor Doris Kellams Cunningham; his father-in-law Ivan Tipps; and his sister Dr. Ann Grandjean. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Cunningham; his children, Allison Cunningham of Lubbock, Amy Harrison (Scott) of Lubbock and Spencer Albracht (Chana) of Morton, Washington.; his brother Kirk Cunningham (Kay) of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Sawyer Hargrove (Matthew) of Lubbock, Dr. Hayden Harrison (Lillie) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Swade Ridgway of Austin, Texas, Gracie Harrison (Landon Hutcheson) of Lubbock, Parker, William Albracht of Morton, Washington, Emma and Eleanor Albracht of Morton, Washington.; and his pet Birdie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (1601 S Georgia St, Amarillo, TX 79102).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Harrington Foundation, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, or a favorite charity.
