It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecil Boedeker of Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Boedeker and Freda Boedeker; his wife Lajuanna Boedeker; his granddaughter Jamie Boedeker; and his siblings, Larry Boedeker and Foncine Carthel.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Lynn Boedeker (Leah) of Era, Texas and Vicki Roderick (Robby) of Amarillo, Texas; his brother Merlin Boedeker (Pam) of Lockney, Texas; his siblings-in-law, Royce Carthel of Plainview, Lee Richards of Houston and Pat Boedeker of Plainview; his grandchildren, Mindy Morrow, Craig Boedeker, Lori Rimmer (Rhett) and Jade Price; and his great grandchildren, Josh, Matthew Rodriguez, Sadey, Blake Boedeker, Callie, Channing, Claire Rimmer, Myles and Jordan Price. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 510 FM 2301, Lockney, Texas, 79241.

“Gary Lynn and Vicki;was so sad to hear of your dad Cecil's passing. Cecil was a wonderful person. We sort of grew up together. My brother Robert, myself and Cecil always played together as we were growing up. We were always in church. Cecil and I were in the same Sunday School Class in church. We were in the same Confirmation Class. All of them had passed away except Cecil and I. I guess that leaves me alone by myself . Later on when your dad married, he became my neighbor. He is missed.”
