He is survived by: his parents, Julian Mendez and Connie Thomas (Lucero); his children, Eddie and Mariah Mendez; his siblings, Adrian Ochoa, Daniel Montenegro, Teresa Lawrence and Dorothy Mendez; his nieces and nephews, John, Alisa Parrie, Jordan Parrie, Chasidy Martinez, Desiree Ramos, Alyssa Mendez, Naomi Fuentes and Aniyah Carver; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kynslee Martinez, J'den Baeza, Jordan Parrie, Jr., Charlotte Parrie, Myles, Nori Soria, Aaliyah and Ariella Parrie.
