He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Maxwell and Edna Maxwell; his daughter Susan Dee Maxwell; his parents-in-law, Fred and Mabel Malone; his son-in-law Todd Posey; his brother-in-law James Malone (Robert Malone); his nephew Kerry Malone; and his niece Dorinda Haynes.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Maxwell; his siblings, Eldon Maxwell (Betty) of Pampa, TX and Barbara Evans (James) of Phoenix, AZ; his children, Kevin Maxwell (Jill) of Amarillo, Marisa Younger (Cary) of Amarillo, Brian Maxwell (Autumn) of Cave Springs, AR, Mark Maxwell (Judy) of Canyon, TX and Krista Posey of Amarillo; and his grandchildren, Justin Bishop, Ashlie Maxwell, Tyler Younger (Jessica), Trent Maxwell (Sam), Lyndzey Maxwell, Haleigh Caldwell (Clint), Zach Younger (Bri), Hunter Lewis (Austin), Logan Posey, Landrey Posey and Jake Maxwell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109).
