He was predeceased by: his parents, Dexter Lawson and Blanch Chance; his wife Gardail Lawson; and his siblings, Mose Lawson and Grethian Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Lawson of Amarillo, Aysha Molden of Amarillo, Shadaka Gonzales (Shelton) of Amarillo, Tyra Malone (Reggie) of Amarillo, Laura Grady-Lawson of Canyon and Ayden Oliver-Lawson of Canyon; his stepchildren, Brad Williams of Amarillo, Ronnie Grady (Shannon) of Amarillo and Vernest Grady of Amarillo; his brother James McGregor (Vanessa) of Dallas; and his close friend Martha Morriel. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
