It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek Pirtle of Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Jim, Gwen Cox, Walter Thomas Pirtle and Verda Pirtle Love. He is survived by: his mother Gloria Gean Pirtle (Sutton); his son Hudson Pirtle; the mother of his child Staci Milecky; his son Brooks Pirtle; the parent of his child Jacey Freeman-Pirtle; his father Richard Pirtle; his brothers, Steve Pirtle (Abby), Tim Pirtle (Amber) and Chris Pirtle (Tiffany); his nieces and nephews, Megan, Morgan, Peyton, Addy, Eli, Ileigh, Asher and Stetson; and his pets, Atticus, Oliver and Axl.
